Seeding and fertilisating
Each crop requires specific conditions for its establishment, based on the selected soil cultivation technology and weather conditions. Generally, the crop should be established by the specified agronomic deadline to meet all the preconditions for achieving the required yield.
Ploughing is one of the basic methods of soil cultivation. Tillage itself is one of the oldest working operations that farmers use for arable land cultivation. As the plough gradually improved in the course of time, farmers discovered how to turn soil, how to incorporate organic fertilizers into soil, as well as how to bury the weeds and pests from topsoil, and how to prepare soil for crop establishment.
Crop Residue Management
Processing crop residue after harvest is important for several reasons. Crop residue is a great source of organic matter that can enhance soil structures, therefore, it is important that the residue is dealt with in an appropriate manner. Crop residue may be unevenly spread, which aggravates soil cultivation, and the encourage facilitate the spread of diseases and breeding of pests. Crop residue management can be done using the STRIEGEL-PRO straw harrow, or MULCHER.
Before herbicides, weeding used to be an indispensable operation of mechanical weed elimination in corn maize or sugar beet crops. The use of this mechanical operation gradually decreased with the development of chemical solutions. At present, weeding is becoming more common once again, mainly due to legislation and changes in the use of chemical applications.
